Community Care Law — Expert help when community care falls short

Rosie Williams leads our Community Care Law team. We represent people who are not receiving the care and support they need in the community, or who are being wrongly charged or overcharged for those services.

We advise and represent service users, carers and professionals to secure appropriate care, challenge decisions and resolve funding disputes.

We also assist with care planning, safeguarding concerns and appeals against local authority decisions. Financially eligible clients may be entitled to Legal Aid.

  • You may be able to challenge the decision if it is unlawful or does not properly meet your needs.

  • Yes. Local authorities must follow strict rules when charging for care. Incorrect financial assessments can be challenged.

  • Carers are entitled to their own assessment and support. This is often overlooked but can be challenged.

  • Legal aid is often available, especially where human rights or unlawful decision making is involved.
