Will getting a solicitor upset the Police?

No, the Police recognise that we will help both you and them to deal with matters quickly and effectively.

Will getting a solicitor cause delay?

Doesn’t having a criminal lawyer make me look guilty?

No, the Police are experts at investigating and instigating prosecutions, it is wrong to think that you can handle them on your own.

If I haven’t done anything wrong why do I need a criminal solicitor?

In order to ensure that you are not wrongly prosecuted.

I am not sure if I need a criminal solicitor, what should I do?

Call us, at the very least we will be able to give you helpful advice for free.

What happens if I am arrested at the Police Station?

If you are arrested then inform the Police that you would like to be represented by AH Solicitors and we will attend quickly. This will be free of charge whatever your finances.

If you have been asked to attend the police station as a volunteer to be interviewed then simply contact us and we will attend with you.

We provide representation at the Police Station 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year round.

We are located a short distance from Devonport Naval Base and Stonehouse Barracks and regularly advise and represent service personnel under investigation by military police and in proceedings before Courts Martial.

What happens if I am summonsed to attend the Magistrates Court?

If you have been charged or summonsed to attend the Magistrates Court we can provide representation almost anywhere in the country. We will advise you whether you are eligible for legal aid and assist you with your application.

What happens at the Crown Court?

What if I am Military Personnel?

We have substantial experience of SIB investigations, Captain’s Table, Admiralty Board, Courts Martial and Summary Appeals. We have dealt with some very high profile cases relating to the Royal Navy.
